Shackerley Sureclad

Pre Drilled Cladding

Shackerley has developed Sureclad, an innovative range of rainscreen installation systems for both new build projects and existing buildings, which allow the company's ceramic granite slabs to be mechanically fixed to a metal substructure using a patented stainless steel undercut anchor system. (AH ceramic cladding panels with a surface area greater than 0.l metres squared must be mechanically fixed when used above first floor level, BS 5385 Part 2)

Prefabricated Bonded Corner Detail

Using special equipment, fixing points of precise dimensions are undercut into the back of each slab to provide extremely strong stress-free anchorage. Depending upon the requirements of the project, slabs can be delivered to site pre-drilled to receive undercut anchors, or with Sureclad support straps or 'hang on' brackets factory fitted, reducing the amount of time spent on site carrying out fabrication works.

The patented design of the Sureclad systems ensures flexibility and durability. Engineered in high grade aluminium alloy, all component parts and profiles are designed for efficient installation and long service. All Sureclad primary fixing brackets and horizontal rails are supplied pre-punched with fixed and flex mounting points to accommodate thermal expansion.

Complementing the system, Shackerley is also able to provide a wide range of specially worked slabs for soffits, alls, reveals, etc. Bonded and polished prefabricated units are an ideal option for fast track construction of columns and similar details which require one-piece units.

Sureclad Access System

Diagram 1

In conventional site constructed rainscreen projects the Sureclad Access system will be employed using a standard 'T' profile support (or box sections). This substructure allows for flexibility in design and can be rapidly installed on site. Uniquely profiled horizontal rails allow individual slabs to be removed for maintenance or replacement. A range of different bracket types and dimensions allow the air space behind the ceramic granite panels to be varied in order to suit the building design and accommodate insulation of the required thickness.

Sureclad Hanging System

Diagram 2

For the installation of large format ceramic granite slabs, and heavy traditional rainscreen cladding materials, Shackerley has developed the Sureclad Hanging system. This allows slabs to be lifted into position onto the horizontal rails and provides full support whilst they are being levelled using the adjustment bolts built into the brackets for this purpose.

Sureclad Ventirail System

Diagram 3

This innovative development is designed to speed up the rainscreen construction process. Ventirail is a single-piece Sureclad horizontal carrier system, which dispenses with the need for the vertical rails and cleats normally required to align the substructure prior to cladding. Ventirail features perforated extruded aluminium rails which provide a 50mm cavity behind the façade allowing for continuous air movement, critical to the performance of a ventilated pressure equalised rainscreen. These rails are affixed directly to the background structure with self-drill, self-tap Tek screws that can go through a layer of insulation if required.

Sureclad Ladder System

Diagram 4

This prefabricated aluminium and stainless steel substructure, assembled by Shackerley, can be quickly positioned and affixed to the exterior of a building. Using uniquely profiled moulding jointing pieces, vertical box sections are locked together to allow rapid preliminary levelling and face alignment until the primary support brackets are secured to the structure. This is an ideal solution for fast track labour saving installations.
