Arches

N R Taylor supply a broad range of brick arches, each with methods of manufacture that will provide the most efficient solution for your situation.

In certain cases, this may simply be cutting the bricks to form the necessary profile, and the brick arch is laid traditionally. However, with the majority of modern developments the arches are pre-formed, in order to accelerate the site build process.

Flat Gauged Skew Based Arch

Single Piece Segmental Arch

Pre-formed arches can either have a light weight backing, which requires a steel lintel for support, or it is fabricated onto a reinforced concrete lintel. The latter is usually selected if the specification imposes a structural issue or aesthetic requirement, where a brick return is on either the underside, or face up on the front, rear or soffit of the arch.

We can also supply custom drilled bricks for brickwork support systems, including general cutting of slips, pistols and fabrication of cut and bonded custom shaped bricks.
